Preliminary design of performance management of works and Preliminary design of construction technology and organization.
Construction of flue gas desulphurization plant (FGD) at TPP „Nikola Tesla A and B“ is the most expensive environmental project within EPS which should be implemented in the future six-year period.
Background of the Project :
In view of Serbia’s aspiration to EU membership and the negative impact to the environment, it is urgent to take measures for reducing air pollutants, such as sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx) and dust.
National Environmental Program (NEP) of Republic of Serbia was adopted in 2010 setting the targets in the area of environmental protection for the period 2010-2019. This document also deals with a current state of environment in Serbia, including the impact on the environment in Energy Sector. One of the main problems recognized in the NEP is air pollution due to inefficient and old abatement technology or the lack of treatment of flue gases from the Thermal Power Plants.
Among the continuous objectives in the field of environmental protection in the Energy Sector are the measures for the reduction of emissions of SO2 and NOx from large combustion plants. Construction of desulphurization facilities on the thermal power plants is foreseen as one of the key investments essential for the realization of the objectives defined by the NEP.
